Psychology HL

I think it's no secret that Psychology was one of my favorite classes. Ironically enough, it's one of the classes people warn you about, how you can kiss your social life and mental sanity goodbye if you choose IB Psych. However, it unexpectedly became my favorite of them all. All classes are rooted in heated discussions, where you are taught to question the ordinary. These not only make the class extremely interactive and fun, but it is the way of learning that I enjoy the most. I don't think there was a class where I didn't laugh, or left in utter shock about human existence. Psychology became the class where I participated on the daily, and developed the amazing to skill to know how to scan a document in three minutes and know the aim, sample, method, and findings. Not only that, but it was here where "The Dream Team" was created, a four member club consisting of some of my favorite people; people I know call my best friends. As I continue to reflective and reminisce on my Psychology experience, enjoy my portfolio.  This class has given me more than you'll ever know, I loved it.

Reading Comprehension - Internal Assessment

My first project in Psychology class, was the Reading Comprehension activity. If i'm being 100% honest, I was terrified of this project. Psychology was very new to me and I was so confused. The project consisted on a reading analysis, where we chose a book of our choice, and then answered a series of questions, where we had to relate our reading to the class content. Although it took me forever to get this project done, I was able to see psychology through a whole new different lense, and become genuinely interested in the topic. This was the first time, before the exam of course, that I thought "this class is so hard, but I love it".  Looking back, it's incredible to see how much i've grown in this class.

Rational Thinking - Tik Tok

One of my favorites projects, was the Rational Thinking Tik Tok. We were about four weeks into national lockdown, and still figuring out how to do online school. Funny enough, TikTok became my most used platform since Covid, so making a TikTok for a project didn't feel like class work at all. Although I learned that technology is not my forte, I had so much fun creating this video and seeing my classmate's Tik  Toks.

Virtual Visit to the Holocaust Museum

The virtual visit to the Holocaust Museum was a project that I really wanted to include in portfolio, as the questions and discussions that we had really stuck with me. Due to my family's history, I am naturally intrigued by this topic, yet this project made me analyze the Holocaust rather than just learn about it. the project consisted on a virtual tour, a written project, and a class presentation. The testimonies and assigned questions brought up a lot of emotions, but the class discussion was my favorite. It was extremely interesting to listen to other people's opinions and connect it to Psychology.
